Quick answer

micro1 Company Data Partnerships is micro1's programme for licensing operational data (SOPs, knowledge bases, CRM records, project histories) from established companies, to train and evaluate AI. micro1 says it has committed $1bn over 12 months to it, and publishes tiers from $100K–500K up to $2M+. Companies with 30+ staff and mainly English records apply through micro1's company portal. micro1 decides who qualifies and what it pays.

This page is about micro1's programme for companies. If you're looking for micro1 jobs, AI interviews or data annotation work, that's micro1's separate hiring platform.

01What is micro1 Company Data Partnerships?

micro1 is an AI data company. In October 2026 it announced a $1bn, 12-month commitment to license company operational data, with capital from Citi and Hercules Capital.

The idea is simple. AI models have learned from the public internet, but how real businesses run (how a support ticket gets resolved, how month-end is closed, how a project moves from brief to sign-off) was never published. micro1 licenses that record from companies so AI systems can learn how work is actually done.

02Who can apply?

micro1 says it's looking for:

  • established companies with 30+ full-time employees;
  • mature operations and several years of historical records;
  • documentation mainly in English;
  • companies in the US first, then other Western markets. Its FAQ says demand is strongest in the US, UK and Canada.

micro1 accepts companies from any industry. Its own examples cover software, finance and accounting, customer support, sales, legal and operations.

03How much does micro1 pay companies?

micro1 publishes three tiers:

Tier (as published by micro1)What it covers
$100K–500KQualified enterprise data partnerships
$500K–2MLarge-scale operational datasets, or participation across several teams
$2M+Highly unique, proprietary operational data

micro1 says compensation depends on dataset size, workflow complexity, data quality, domain expertise and uniqueness. Each partnership is priced individually, and nothing is guaranteed. Your figure depends on micro1's review.

04What data does micro1 want?

micro1 describes it as data that "reflects how work is actually performed". That includes:

  • SOPs and process documentation;
  • internal knowledge bases and wikis;
  • project histories and ticket workflows;
  • CRM records and sales playbooks;
  • templates and operational frameworks.

There's no fixed minimum. micro1 says several years of records across several systems is generally a stronger fit.

05How to apply, step by step

  1. Register a company profile on micro1's company portal and complete a data manifest (what systems you have, how far back they go).
  2. micro1 reviews the application. Its FAQ says this includes an initial AI interview.
  3. Qualified companies talk to a Data Partnership Manager about the data, licensing terms and next steps.
  4. Contracting. Agree the scope and terms. Have your own counsel review the licence.
  5. Data transfer. You transfer the approved data through micro1's approved methods.
  6. Approval and payment. micro1 says it has 30 days to review and approve the data. You then invoice, and payment is made within 30 days of invoicing.

micro1 publishes no guaranteed timeline from application to payment.

06Who owns the data, and how is it protected?

micro1 states that companies retain ownership of their underlying data. It also says:

  • personal and identifying information is removed or transformed before data is shared with third parties;
  • data is processed in isolated pipelines and not mixed with other companies' data;
  • data is retained only for agreed periods and deleted on schedule;
  • companies can review representative samples before use;
  • data is licensed only to labs and enterprises in the US and allied countries.

You don't need to anonymise the data yourself first; micro1 says it handles de-identification. This isn't legal advice: check customer contracts, NDAs and data-protection obligations (UK GDPR, CCPA) with your own lawyers before agreeing scope.

07micro1 vs other programmes

micro1 isn't the only programme. Mode (mode.inc) publishes a range of $100K–$5M per company, and Mercor publishes a range for each business type. Each has its own eligibility rules and process, and many companies can apply to more than one. See micro1 vs Mode and the full programmes comparison.

09Questions people ask

Is micro1 Company Data Partnerships the same as micro1 jobs?

No. micro1 also runs a hiring platform for AI trainers and annotators. This programme is for companies licensing their data.

How much will my company get?

micro1 doesn't promise a figure. It publishes tiers from $100K–500K to $2M+, and prices each partnership individually.

Do we lose our data?

micro1 says companies retain ownership of their underlying data. You're licensing it, not selling the business.

Do we need to anonymise everything first?

micro1 says no; it has its own de-identification process. Agree the scope carefully and take legal advice.

How long does it take?

After transfer, micro1 says it has 30 days to approve the data, then pays within 30 days of invoicing. Earlier steps vary, and micro1 gives no guaranteed timeframe.

Can UK companies apply?

Yes. micro1 prioritises the US, but says demand is strongest in the US, UK and Canada.

Our company has closed. Can we still apply?

micro1 also runs a separate partnership for companies that are no longer operating. See closing a company.

10Change history

  1. Company tiers now $100K–500K, $500K–2M and $2M+ (were $100k+, $500k+ and $1M+ on 15 October). Company referral reward now $50,000 for deals up to $700,000, or 7.5% above (was “up to $50k”). New Defunct Data Partnership for companies that are no longer operating.
  2. micro1 announced a $1bn, 12-month commitment to license company data, with capital from Citi and Hercules Capital.
